Round Up: Hidden Details

Another day another round-up of previous custom and semi-custom designs by Mary Frances Maker. One of the pieces about MFM’s work that she is most proud of is incorporating hidden details that hold meaning and sentiment to the wearer and the gifter. Added meaning to a piece may lead you to think about an engraving…which yes, of course we do that! But there are so many more special ideas that have been done that definitely are not common. It’s yet another reason why working with Mary Frances Maker is just so dang special. Discover and see the hidden details in these past projects to inspire your next piece and all that you can do!

Rings for sisters, gifted from their father - the round sapphire in the place of their birth order

A scatter ring with the diamonds from J's mother's wedding bands, specifically made to stack with her father's art carved wedding band

The hammered band in this custom, 2 stone engagement ring, reflects the hammered texture of rings the couple made together while on a memorable trip together

A push present to herself - a subtle engraving of her son's initials and birthdate, engraved in the direction for her to see it herself when she flipped up the pendant

We designed these gold hummingbird cufflinks to be hollow to hold the ashes of the groom's deceased mother. The bride gifted them to her (now) husband on their wedding day so that his mother would be with him.
